BIOGRAPHY
Zeyu Hu (b. 1999) is a Chinese artist based in London. In 2023, he graduated from the London College of Communication with an MA in Photography. His philosophical interests are inspired by semiotics and structuralism, which have led to deep reflections on the detection of words, unbalanced power structures, and the collective trauma of memory.

In his strikingly ideological criticism, he posits that photography is a continual failed attempt at referencing reality, a medium replete with ideological symbols with the potential to be utilized by power structures. Reconstructing narratives with images is the primary aim of his work.

In his photographic practice, he employs images with remarkable flexibility and freedom. His works incorporate mediums such as photogrammetry, 3D modeling, analogue photography, and acquired images from the Internet.

Exhibition of Zeyu Hu’s work include Brink at London Collage of Communication, London UK (2023); Within Bounds at Copeland Gallery, London UK (2023); Pending at London Collage of Communication, London UK (2023); Sewed Landscape, Virtue Exhibition (2021).
